Wonderful Antique Very Long Embroidered Christening Dress that is hand sewn and machine sewn with just amazing workmanship.
Dress is made out of a fine cotton with long sleeves with a beautiful embroidered bodice with lace bretelles, a pretty embroidered collar, embroidery at the waist, and a very full long skirt. I hope my pictures tell the story of the handiwork and the intricacies of this beautiful antique dress.
My favorite part is the original string at the neckline to adjust how loose or tight you want the dress at the shoulders, and of course, the fabulous original covered buttons. You never see this. Even the original thread buttonholes are intact!
Lovely piece was obviously stored away carefully and doesn’t really show any damage. i would say this piece is in very good to excellent condition. Dress could use an ironing.
Antique dress measures approximately 40” in length and the chest circumference is 17” around.
