    About the Replacement Polaris G52 Back Up Valve Kit - For Polaris 280, 180 & 380- By CMP
    The CMP Polaris G52 is a replacement back-up valve kit for the Polaris models 180, 280, 380, and 3900. The Back-Up Valve is a replacement part, not an add-on. If your cleaner is experiencing issues such as getting stuck on edges of the pool or having a hard time turning around, this could be due to a faulty back-up valve.
    Every 3 minutes the back-up valve will shoot water in the opposite direction that the cleaner is currently heading. This will help the cleaner remove itself from a stuck position. You can test if yours is having issues by watching to see if this is happening and if not it might be time to replace.  Make sure that the nuts go on first then the hose pushes over the hose barbs.  Then screw the new nuts onto the hose to secure the hose to the valve.
